What is a Zapier Power Hour?
A Zapier Power Hour is a 60 minute Zoom call with me, dedicated to learning about Zapier.
When you book a session you’ll pick a time slot on a day to suit you and we will use that session to introduce you to Zapier. I’ll share my favourite automations and show you how they save me tons of time in my business.
I will demonstrate exactly how the automations work and how they can be adapted to suit you.
Afterwards, I will send you a recording of the session, as well as a cheat sheet with all my templates and lots of other tips.

The automation which saved my marriage!
OK, so that might be a slight exaggeration but my favourite automation saves an argument with my husband most weekends.

The problem :
Every Sunday I create my husband’s invoice for his work the previous week.
How this used to work would be that he would painstakingly handwrite all his jobs, references and prices on a piece of paper. It would often include crossings-out, scrawled writing and go over several sheets of paper. I would then try and decipher the information and transfer to a spreadsheet to produce the invoice.
Often the figures wouldn’t add up, and I often couldn’t read his writing. It was a real pain point and something I dreaded doing. Not only did it take a long time but it was super-stressful, especially when I begrudged the time I spent on it over the weekend.
The solution:
Rather than building an elaborate process, I created a simple form on my website that my husband could use to enter the information. This immediately saved me from reading his writing and I also asked him to enter the total amount so that he would be reconciling the total rather than me.
I created an automation to transfer this information into a spreadsheet and, ta-dah, it was there for me when I needed it.
It’s now a 5 minute job to create his invoices, with ZERO STRESS!
And the bonus is that he actually prefers entering the data on his phone into my form rather than writing it out longhand. A DOUBLE WINNER!

USING AUTOMATION TO BE MORE PRODUCTIVE
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you’re busy juggling tasks. We know that batching similar tasks makes you more productive but it’s not always easy to know how to do that effectively.
This automation not only makes me more productive but means that I manage my email inbox efficiently and save time in the process.

The problem :
One of my SEO clients regularly sends me images to add to his work portfolio.
Each set of images is attached to an email and the body of the email contains the technical information which needs to be used for the filenames, and the scene-setting details for the alt text.
I often get three or four of these requests every week and although I would try to batch them up, I couldn’t always find the emails in my disorganised inbox.
I would waste time looking for the emails, spend time saving the images to my computer to work on, and sometimes miss some of the requests altogether – it really wasn’t a slick process.
The solution:
I was able to use an automation to solve my productivity problems.
I used Email By Zapier to send the emails to a fixed address, thus clearing my inbox.
The automation then saved the attached images to my Dropbox, and created a task in Asana so that I wouldn’t forget to do it. The Asana task included the body of the email in its description so that I would have all the technical information I needed when uploading the images to the client’s website.
The Dropbox folder name was tied to the Asana task name, meaning that I could easily identify what needed to be done.
Having the tasks in Asana meant I could batch them up, thus making it a super-efficient process and saving me loads of time and stress. I don’t have to hunt through my inbox to find the information I need and know that I have everything I need in one place.
